From Shapes to Script: A Summer of Typographic Exploration
In the summer of 2014, I delved into the world of type design at the Basel Academy of Art and Design FHNW. My experiment focused on crafting a unique serif font built from fundamental geometric shapes – circles, triangles, and squares. Initially, I explored using these shapes as both the base and terminals of the letters. While intriguing, the results lacked a certain level of refinement. So, inspired by the idea of a "mix formula," I embarked on a new path: combining these shapes in innovative ways to create the terminals. This creative exploration led to the development of a truly captivating typeface, as you can see below.
